This is the main international port of Maldives. It’s located on the island of Hulhule, not far from the center of the capital, on North Male Atoll. It‘s worth mentioning here that Male is the smallest capital in the world, located on several islands with a total area not exceeding … 6 kilometers.
The blue sky and emerald shade of water make landing at this airport seem to be landing in paradise. The airport actually covers the whole area of the island. The terminal has a post office, Wi-Fi and computer stations are also available. Of course, you’ll also find cafes, restaurants and shops. It is true that we cannot count on some of the amenities that airports usually offer, but there is probably no one who would find this an inconvenience.
There is not even a parking lot here but you can get to the nearby islands by ferry or thanks to „air taxis”, Maldivian Air Taxi or Trans Maldivian Airways seaplanes. There is a single hotel on the island, which can be reached within 5 minutes by shuttle.
